Oklahoma!

I thought I would share the following story about our latest "adventure" Enjoy!
David and I decided to take a day trip to Oklahoma this past Saturday to go visit a casino right past the Oklahoma state line. We had a blast, stopped in Albany and had a great lunch, then it started to get hot! And I mean HOT! We finally arrived and didn't do so well at the slots so we decided to play a little Black Jack, we sat at the table for a long time and played, then looked at the clock and decided that we better get on the road before it was too late. We stopped in Seymore at Dairy Queen to have a bite to eat, our cell phones started ringing with various friends and family members telling us to "watch the storms". We stayed there for a bit and then decided to head to the next town, the storms were on both sides of us and we are heading for a clearing, thinking that we are going to make it! Then...the road curved and we are heading straight toward a very dark cloud, we pulled the bike over in Monday, TX and decided to watch it for a moment...we seen it at the same time..a wall of dirt with rain behind it..it was coming right at us...we turned around and parked the bike under an abandoned gas station cover and took off to Allsups, just in time! We watched it, thinking it would end soon..well, it didn't! A nice man told us about a motel so we waited until the rain let up and we found the motel, in the lobby was a TV with the radar..we knew then that it would be best if we just stayed put! We were very lucky that they had 1 room left. Well, let me tell you, there was nothing to unpack because we had nothing with us! So, here we were, no toothbrushes, shampoo, clean clothes or contact solution...we made the best of of a bad situation and just laughed! But my advice to my fellow bikers out there, pack an emergency kit with items you may need in a pinch and keep it on the bike at all times!!!
